Emotion Game
Materials: Different emotion faces on a piece of paper. Description: Show each emotion face and discuss what they represent. Tape each emotion face around the room. Give the children different scenarios where they can move to which emotion they would feel when that scenario happens. Scenario examples: Your block tower falls down. Another child doesn't want to play right now. Another child helps you put on your coat. |
Yoga in a Bag
Materials: Brown paper bag, pictures of yoga poses( print outs on Pinterest or can take pictures of children doing yoga poses) Description: Teacher starts off by pulling a pose out the bag and have children copy the pose. To extend have children pick a poses from the bag or make up a pose they want their friends copy. |
Napping House Story Retell
-The teacher created a laminated card stock sheet with velcro dots. -A velcro dot was placed on the back of each picture story piece: bed, grandma, dog, cat, flea. -Children were given a piece of the story and placed the pieces in order on the board as they retold the story. -The activity was left out in the library area for children to play/retell the story at free choice time. |
