Name Writing/Sign In
Students will practice writing their name each day of the week. Children will start practicing their first name only. Once they have mastered their first name, we can add their last name. You can add this activity to the beginning of their morning meeting or on a table where students need to sign in each morning as attendance. You can have students use different writing materials such as markers, paint, dot art daubers and/or Q-tips to write their name. |
Name Activity (Clothes Study)
This activity was done for the clothes study. The children used a variety of materials like buttons, fabric, pom poms, yarn, and wood sticks. Each child was given a paper and their name tag. Then the children used the provided materials to make the letters on their paper. Teachers were there to support children who needed more assistance. For higher level children they were able to make the shape of the letters on their own. For children needing more support teachers traced the name on the paper with the child to allow as a guide on where to glue their pieces. |
